This is my version of King's Cage. What if, by killing Elara, Mare removed all of Elara's changes in other people's minds? This would mean that Maven is himself. Will he be the kind boy that Mare thought if only as the ghost? Or will he still be every inch his mother's son, hungry for power and revenge? P.S. This is a Mareven fanfiction.

Suddenly, when the Scarlet Guard attacks during her work hours, she is fired from her job for simply being a red. She is forced to go to war. This fanfic will start where the second book ended, this is fanfiction on King's cage how i would want it to be (even tho I know it's already out). It will mostly about how Mare was tortured, and about her and Cal. So it's Marecal. • • • I feel claustrophobic. Now they flash in front of my eyes, Cal laying behind the bars when Maven pulled us down from the sky. Then Kilorn's eyes, begging for me not to leave. Tears start to fall from my eyes. So I open them and look upwards and try to blink them away.

Alternate reality where Cal meets Mare after she saves his life by stopping him being run over by a drunk driver. However, Mare ends up being injured instead as she pushes Cal out of the way. Different scenarios, same characters. Will the outcome be any different? Recommend reading at least Red Queen first to avoid spoilers. All rights go to Victoria Aveyard.

This is a continuation of Turkeys and Kisses. Maven is jealous of Cal, who has the one thing that Maven wanted for himself. Mare. So with a thirst for revenge with his childish mind, he plots to make her hate him. (Also there's a bit of Evangeline x Kilorn on the side.)

He tortures her with words and by other means. She doesn't know how long she has been there, but she does know that Cal isn't coming to rescue her. She has given up all hope. Cal is desperately trying to get Mare back. He lost his father, his mother, and his brother, but he refuses to lose Mare. He is trying to come up with a plan to free her, but everything is too risky. But Cal will not just leave Mare to die. Kilorn wants to get Mare back. He needs to get Mare back. He can't survive without her. He is now taking care of her family and working with Cal and her brothers to get her back. Farley is left heartbroken. Her love was murdered and she didn't even get to say goodbye. He left her something, though. He left her with a child. Will Cal save Mare? Will Maven kill her? Or will she fall back in love with him before she is rescued? What will happen to Kilorn? Will Farley and her child survive? Read Shattered Heart to find out!
