He was always first. She was always second. Y/N never expected much from the new neighbors who moved in next door. Until she walked into her Honors class the next morning and found herself sitting across from the one person she could never seem to beat. Muichiro Tokito. The same boy who had just moved in next door. The same boy who had been at the top of their class for as long as she could remember. And, unfortunately, the same boy who seemed to enjoy reminding her that she was always second place. What starts as a petty academic rivalry quickly turns into something neither of them expected. Between late-night study sessions, sarcastic remarks, competitive grades, and moments neither of them wants to admit mean anything, Y/N begins to realize that maybe Muichiro isn't as insufferable as she thought. And maybe being second to him isn't the worst thing in the world... Academic rivals. Neighbors. Enemies... or something more?
