Your Name is one of the most touching anime I have ever watched, it's hard to deny that the work put into the movie was flawless. Taki and Mitsuha are both meant to be, and as much as I love the cliffhanger, I yearn to see the two warming up to each other once again. A fanfic based on the moving story of "Kimi no na wa" ("Your name") whose two main bigwigs, Taki Tachibana and Mitshua Myamizu, go on an unprecedented journey of self-discovery, where the love they feel for each other seems to come out of a dream too good to be real... Something seems to be missing from the moment they interact for the first time, as if they had gone into a machine to erase memories of their relationship and destiny had taken the time to bring them back together, in the style of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" starring Jim Carrey. But something much more complex awaits them, from swapping bodies to time travel, things they both did but forgot. The two could be content with the gift of Musubi, who brought them back together after years of misunderstood anguish, but no, something was missing in their love: a past. As I often say, there is no bright future without true knowledge of the past, and the couple sensed that they had a past even without knowing if they had it at all. And the same intuition that made them find and love each other is the same intuition that tells them that there is something more than a happy coincidence of love at first sight. (MY VERSION OF HOW MITSUHA AND TAKI MEET EACH OTHER AGAIN AFTER MITSUHA SUCCESSFULLY SAVES THE PEOPLE OF ITOMORI FROM THE COMET THAT SPLIT) Note : This version of the ending changes not only how Taki and Mitsuha meet but when they meet as well. (it's not right after itomori is saved lel, Taki still chose to only write "I love you" on Mitsuha's hand back when they met during Kataware Doki ) If you want me to be precise about what portion of the movie serves as the basis for this story then here are the Time Stamps : 0:03:21 - 1:32:46 This is because I need to exclude the monologue at the beginning and the nandemonaiya sequence at the end of the movie if I want to change the time of their reunion. If you're wondering about how much I'm going to tweak it, weLL- in the movie it's 5 years for Taki and 8 for Mitsuha (since it's later revealed that the body switch happening through a gap of 3 years). Here it will be 3 years and about 6 months after the comet strikes. So 3 years and 6 months of living with faded memories of Taki for Mitsuha (She's 20 now, turning 21 soon) and only 6 months of the same with Taki's memories of Mitsuha (6 months after he made the trip to a destroyed itomori and created a timeline in which Mitsuha and the people of Itomori are saved) (Also he's 17 now, turning 18 soon).

My version of the story proceeding after the ending of Your Name which leaves us at a cliff hanger. Frankly the story, the animations, the characters everything was sheer brilliant in the movie. I hereby make this Fan Fic as a "tribute" I could say for the people behind it. Was probably one of the best thing I've laid my eyes on.
