Ever since the disbandment of X1, the popular competition show Produce 101 seemed to have vanished entirely. That is until January of 2022 when the first advertisement for the show aired and Korea went erratic. There wasn't supposed to be another season. Not when there hadn't been one for two years and the viewers still believed the entire system would be once again rigged. But it didn't matter. By the time this advertisement played on every tv screen in Korea, these trainees would already be one-fourth of the way to finishing the competition and being able to reach their goal of debuting amongst the final 11. Or so they thought. After two years of silence, Mnet had enough time to plan what new challenges and trials would await these young trainees. What the producers had changed was yet to be discovered but soon enough it would all be found out.
