In the kingdom of Lark there were eight powerful leaders who have been alive since the beginning of time. Each leader has a dagger-like-knife and on the day the children of Lark turn eighteen they wake up in a never ending void of white surrounded by eight glowing god-like people, one of the eight people would claim the child and become their 'Savior' they would then prick the child's finger with there knife and the child would receive an ability chosen by their Savior. Then the most powerful 'Saved', as they're called, of the decade becomes the new King or Queen.
That tradition had long since faded for the King had started to take advantage of his role separating the kingdom into three classes, The Saved, The Working and The Hopeless, The Saved being the highest class, bellow The Royals, who had the nicest houses and they often worked for the King as advisors or owned their own stores or factories. The Working is the middle class have decant housing and work in the King's army and as cleaners, chefs and butlers to The Saved and The Royals or low class workers in shops and factories. The Hopeless are the lowest class seen as nothing more than peasants by the other classes, forced to ether be slaves or thieves they need to build homes with what you could find or steal.
