Ten years since she first set foot in the Demon Realm, Luz Noceda has settled in the city of Caja Torácica and married her longtime girlfriend, Amity Blight. They moved into the apartment above Viney's veterinary clinic together and began a new chapter in their lives founding Noceda Bounty Hunting and General Services. They don't know what became of their surrogate family, but they won't give up their search for the Owl House. Luz and Amity Noceda had thought their adventuring days were behind them, but with new career opportunities, encounters with beings from another Titan, corporate espionage, a looming confrontation with the notorious Owl Lady, and the prospect of beginning a family, they might be in for their wildest years yet.

Luz Noceda works at a wonderful store called Hot Topic with her co-workers, King Clawthorne, Hooty, and Edalyn Clawthorne, her manager. But, being in a populated mall, you don't really get to decide who you work by. Amity Blight works at Claire's, the accessory store with her co-workers, Boscha, and Skara, her manager being a woman named Lilith Clawthorne. Though, you only read books for fluff, this one has some angst sprinkled on top. Overworked, understaffed, working hard to reach end's meet. Luz slowly starts to realize that she can fight for herself. Hooty doesn't have to be the joker. King can quit work because he's just eight! And Owlbert can learn to speak up after all these years. And do your friends a favor readers. Ask how they're REALLY doing. Let them be weak in front of you. Let yourselves be weak in front of them! And don't be scared to open up again. But usually she overcomes them and makes everything better. In fact, almost every world has Luz being victorious, happy, and saving everyone. But not this one. In this world there are no Boiling Isles. Just an unforgiving facility for all the freaks and unusual. Those who have unnatural abilities. In this world, there is no saving everyone. And those who are saved might not be sane. Or Luz kills her mom accidently with powers and gets kidnapped and sent to a facility!!! She gets trauma, trauma, and, what's that? That's right! More trauma!
