How will she navigate her loyalties, her life in a strange new land, and her blossoming feelings for a man she is supposed to hate? ------------ After watching "The King" on Netflix and seeing the on-screen chemistry between Timothee Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp I was INSPIRED. There was such an interesting story in the few minutes of screen time they shared, that I envisioned a whole story starting after the movie ended, and I couldn't rest until I wrote it down. I tried to add historical facts and timeline as much as possible, but please remember this is a work of historical fiction so there are times where I change information to fit my story line.

Edith Xocoyotzin has recently been sold by her father to King Henry IV in order to keep his territory in Europe - the territory that King Henry wanted. Because of the bargain made by Edith's father, Motechuzoma, by selling her to the King of England her father kept his claimed territory. Now Edith is living in the King's castle as a young woman waiting to hear who her husband is to be. That, King Henry IV was to decide...until he died.

Both girls are living in a convent since they were young when their lives were nearly assassinated on when they were living in the French Court where one of the girls were to marry the Prince of France when they come of age. After a failed attempt on their life again they were on their way back to the French Court where they were once as children. Only this time they have alot of growing up to do and choices to make. Ones they are going to disappoint everyone and a multiple of nations. Their lives were going to change and not for a good reason.

I look back at the memories of people that have told me I would never be seen as a princess, much less the Queen of England. My brother Edward VI and my sister Mary I were before me in the line for the throne, so I had no intent of being the queen. Yet after my father died, my siblings seemed to follow.
