Mare has surrendered to Maven and is immediately taken as prisoner. A small piece of her thinks that there's still hope left for Maven, her once betrothed. However, that is not the case. WARNING: Contains spoilers from King's Cage!! Mare had been locked up being tortured by Maven for too long. What seemed like an eternity came to an end when she was rescued from her chains. Now she is back with Cal and in Piedmont. Constantly haunted by the past, and struggling to find her rhythm she turns to the only person who would go through hell and back for her, Cal Calore.

This takes place during the final showdown between Mare and Maven. It mostly covers Maven's thoughts and feelings as he dies. I got this idea from reading a Hamilton fanfiction where Eliza meets Hamilton in the afterlife, so there is a few references... well there's one, and the title is a reference to off Broadway Hamilton. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
