Prism has never belonged anywhere-not in the Ice Kingdom, not in the rainforest, not even in Jade Mountain . . . or so she believes. Attending classes, reliving nightmares, and struggling to forget her past are all normal for her, but when she meets a few dragons in a particular winglet, she unknowingly joins them on a path to save the world, all while keeping dark secrets and catching the eye of more than one dragon. Can Prism tell her new friends the truth about her past? And more importantly, can she, herself, learn to accept it?

Winter had always thought of Qibli as his best friend, and nothing more. But recently, he had begun to notice the little things he normally didn't. A lingering gaze. A laugh that lasted for longer than it should have. And what Winter really didn't want to admit; was the reason he had noticed all these things... was because he had been paying more attention to Qibli than he normally did. No one really paid much attention to Shadowscale, after all, what is a prince good for anyways? The NightWing's ears perked up as he turned his head towards his son. "Oh, Shadow, what are you doing at this hour? Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" "Don't NightWings sleep during the day now?" Shadowscale retorted causing Deathbringer to bark out a laugh. "Touche my son! But still, what do you need?" His small talons where shaking as the flashes of fire and death flashed before his eyes, as if reminding him why he needed to do this. Why he needed to ask this. Because if he didn't... it could possibly be the end of Pyrriah. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them again, his amber eyes where full of determination.
