After Kion gives up the Roar and his duties as the Fiercest of the Lion Guard, he asks his teammates to accompany him to the Tree of Life so he can be with Queen Rani. However, Fuli sees this a betrayal and believes it undermines everything they have worked for. After years apart, the Pridelands are on edge as a neighbouring Cheetah Coalition threatens a war with King Simba. Kion is forced to return to his homeland and sacrifice his happiness for the sake of peace. The one thing that can prevent a war is a betrothal between the Prideland Prince and the Cheetah Coalition Heiress. "Everything I do is for the Kingdom".

When Kion and Kiara are in danger and Simba is forced to choose between them, he chooses Kiara, and doesn't even try to help Kion. When Kion miraculously survives, he vows to get revenge on Simba his family, not just for this, but also for every time they mistreated him. But a certain person discover not only that he was alive, but also what he is planning. Who is this person? Will they tell the royal family, or help Kion? And will Kion succeed, or will he die trying?

The whole pridelands seems to hate Kion, except his friends, and he gets some eyes on him from outside The Pridelands, at the same time Fuli tries to keep her boyfriend happy, but it's very hard. One day the Guard was patrolling and went to the Watering Hole because it was so hot out, when they get there a few moments passed and Kion gets bit by a snake and he gets horribly sick and possibly dying. The Guard goes on a journey to find the remedy, but while they are out there a teammate is the most worried about Kion out of them all: Fuli. She knew him as a cub and thinking about him getting taken away like that, it makes her sad and it doesn't help with the feelings she has for him. She tries to focus on the task ahead but she keeps thinking about their leader and wants to get back before it's too late. But what happens when they meet trouble along the way? The two hate each other, for a long while and are too paranoid to even be around each other, but soon enough they begin to develop a strong bond with one another, only to realize the two of them are somehow related to each other as the outcome.
