L Lawliet is a normal- or rather, abnormal - person, who one day happens to come across a magic notebook that grants one the power to kill people simply by writing their name and knowing their face. He is unsure of what to do with it at first, but it sparks his curiosity. Lawliet then comes into contact with someone who is trying to take away his newfound power -- a detective who goes by "Moon," and just so happens to be the greatest detective in the world. What will Lawliet do about Moon in their battle of wits? (character's ages and time frame might be inaccurate. If you care, don't read this lol)
