The morning after Levi's best friend drags him to the ocean, Levi awakens with a horrible, wrenching pain in his gut. He had no idea why or what exactly his dream was about (he had some fuzzy recollections of the less important parts) but he did know that it didn't end well. The horrid, scratchy feeling in his throat and the sudden fear made Levi's body feel like it was being torn apart, a feeling he'd never experienced before. It was horrible; painful, and the moment Levi had sat up, he knew exactly why everything hurt. And that morning, the storm outside rattling against the sides of the house familiarly, Levi did something he'd never done before. He bent over, stuffing his head in his hands, and then he began to cry.

Jean's pissed, especially since prefect duty with Eren Jaeger means running into him at least once. Even though he's more pissed at himself, really. I had been part of the scouts for a few years now, training in Captain Levi's squad. I had thought that I had gotten used to the routines, the people, the missions.
