There is a story out there, somewhere, where the Baudelaires encounter Quigley Quagmire on the Gorgonian Grotto, but are forced to abandon him due to the spread of the deadly Medusoid Mycelium. This is not that story. This is the story of the Baudelaires reuniting with Quiglely and soon after, the rest of his siblings. Events occur, some fortunate and some unfortunate, as the six children evade the evil and corrupt Count Olaf.

Bertrice, Quaren, and mentions of other ships inside! This is a look into the past, with my version of how we got to where we are now. There will of course be happy moments, but some somber ones too. This story is not for everyone. There will be heavy spoilers for All the Wrong Questions inside, but it's not an ATWQ focused book. (Only in the first chapter) Multiple POVs will be used. As many of my stories have similar details to their past events, I have decided this prequel will not be tied to any of my previous stories specifically, as they share several details of their past and it would be mostly inconsequential to not tie them to any one later story. Dear reader, If you have stumbled upon this book and are hoping for a fun prequel to the tragic lives of the Baudelaire orphans full of love and friendship, you are sorely mistaken. This early tale is no less hurtful nor unfortunate than the books you know, hate, and hopefully avoid. Therefore if you deny my advice and read on, you will encounter such tragedies as a familiar sorrowful school, the murder of a much-loved teenager, detention, a piano and the true origin of a divided organisation. My job, however, is to research these horrible villains and their childish childhood antics, so I am burdened with the task of writing it down. So I beg of you, please don't read this. Just look away. You'll come to regret not doing so.

What if the story of The End went differently? What if those who were stranded in the ocean listened to Kit and got aboard the raft? What if they all washed ashore on The Island to be reunited with the Baudelaires? What if someone had rescued Dewey in time? What if they went in search of their family members?
