In this AU, they have the tech of the 21st century, but they are NOT humanized because human AUs freak me out (no offense, human AU writers!). Kitsunami the Fennec and his partner Surge the Tenrec had just finished a long and hard battle against Sonic, Tails, Dr. Eggman, and Metal Sonic. Exhausted from the fight, Kitsunami carried Surge in his arms and ran until they found a safe place to rest. He eventually stumbled upon a cave, where he could rest and recover in peace. Inside, Kitsunami and Surge cuddled together, taking a moment to catch their breath and relax in the safety of the cave. With no one around to bother them, the two were able to take a much-needed break from the soon chaos of the outside world.
