One never differing from the rest, and often blurring into each other. His days were filled with schoolwork, while every night came to a close for him with his daily run. His routine was very important to him. It allowed him to find some familiarity in such an unfamiliar place. To him, sticking to his day to day routine was just as important as breathing itself. Nothing was ever viewed as important enough to stray him from it; that is until he met Haiji Kiyose.

With Haiji Kiyose in his final year of University, it's his last chance to run in the Hakone Ekiden. Luckily, it doesn't take him too long to convince the other nine occupants of Aotake to participate and training is quickly under way. What he doesn't expect, is to run into an old friend he thought he'd never see again. Chiyo is struggling under the pressure of her father but Haiji takes her in, in hopes of bringing her back to her old self. So when old feelings arise, Haiji has to deal with helping out an old friend and completing his dream at the finish line. But is a dream really that simple?
