Verena Winchester was taught one thing about hunting. Shoot first and ask questions later. She followed those hunting rule for the longest time until her dad was taken to hell by a hell hound because of Lilith and Ruby. Her dad always had a backup plan for her in case he died before she was 18. Verena was sent to a hunter friend, Alaric Saltzman. Alaric changed her legal name to Juliette Saltzman against her wishes, but he did to keep her safe. Verena hates her legal name because it's like her father never named her. Verena only answers to Juliette around others but refuses to respond when the people who know her real name call her that in private. Ever since the move to Mystic Falls, everything has spun out of control for Verena. She even had to get a new phone. That was one thing she didn't regret though because one wrong number led her to the person she could call home.
