Crofton is the wealthy Kingdom of Yellow. It should come as no surprise that the castle itself is made completely out of rare minerals and gems. However, Crofton's ruler, King Olaphine, has two secrets unlike any other kingdom in their world: He stripped his people bare of resources to fulfill his greed, and has hidden his secret son away in a world without life in order to remain king. A world where Prince Kai has never seen any color other than black, grey, and white. Alas Dawnwhisper is perhaps the strangest inhabitant of Crofton; if it's not his irregular obsidian black hair or cobalt blue eyes, it's his unusual attraction to males and unexplainably pointed ears. Fed up with the little that King Olaphine gave the peers of Crofton, he and several other of his friends break into the castle and steal as much as they can. And what they find may be even more valuable than gold; Kai. Though slightly against his will, Kai agrees to travel with Alas, if only to discover the world he's never seen. And with each passing day, he finds himself not only questioning the wonders of the world, but each and every moral and fact he thought he knew about himself and his father. Especially when he realizes he has fallen in love with Alas. (The idea for this book legit came from when I was making this huge castle in Minecraft.
