Her father, Mr. George, who has always been far from his family for the sake of his career, wanted her daughter to be a doctor before she would marry so that she would not have to depend on a man. Already abandoned by one parent, Christina feared that if she didn't walk on her father's path, she would be abandoned by her other parent, too. What happens when a guy named Charlie, who seemed like a perfect candidate for her marriage falls in love with her, but he despises conformity as much as Christina loves it?
