The thick foliage above hides us from the suns raze and consequently from their eyes, I can hear them, they're so close now, their muscular bodies forcing the trees to bend with them and they swing from the barren branches, shaking the snow that rests on them to the forest floor. My lungs burn from my exertion, begging me to stop, but I cant if I stop I'm dead. I fought too hard, too long, and lost too many to stop now.
