After the Paramount War, Admiral Akainu still remembers what Koby did, and he's still angry about it. To keep his cadet safe, Garp decides to stash him away with in the last place a Marine should be- with the Straw Hat Pirates. Koby doesn't mind it. What he does mind, however, is how much torture it's turning out to be to live with the boy he's been in love with since he met him.

First fanfic I ever wrote.

Luffy's chaotic adventure takes a more unexpected turn when the Straw Hat Pirates make an unexpected stop at a Marine base. Luffy's act gets him into a dramatic and accidental rescue by Koby, who is now an officer and was once a timid Marine recruit, as he gets a search for his grandfather, the Marine hero Garp. Among all the danger and confusion, in a hushed moment, the two gasp as feelings they never encouraged in themselves become more apparent. Between them floats a confession that changes everything in the dark ocean, crammed into a barrel. Beneath the barrel showcases not just the frenzy of friendship and the sheer thrill of adventure but also the surprising budding of something deeper between these two unlikely hearts.

As a Marine, it was Koby's job to catch criminals...But when it comes to Luffy, he just can't bring himself to do such...Soon push comes to shove when he finds himself captured, used as a weakness against Luffy. Perhaps from the start, Koby had been destined to love such a terrible man. Who tugs at his heartstrings the same as he does his guitar. Doomed, just the same as Eve, who bit the apple at the gentle persistence of a snake-he, too, would devour God's holiest creations at Luffy's command. His heart stutters as the song wanes and Luffy calls out his thanks to the club, as they welcome on the next band and prepare to take their much needed rest. Koby does not miss Luffy's beckoning hand-and like a moth to a flame, a bee to a flower and a lovesick boy to his heart's greatest need, he follows. Or, Koby is an anxiety filled mess and learns that reality isn't always as complicated as he makes it.
