Kyle and johnnie had been best friends since they were 12, and kyle started having suicidal thoughts and johnnie heped kyle through them. right when everything starts getting better for kyle, he develops feelings for johnnie. Hes not quite sure how he feels. all he knows is hes having mixed emotions for his best friend johnnie. but Kyle KNOWS he has no chance with johnnie a stright male. Kyle normally tells johnnie EVERYTHING and this is killing him

When Kyle David Hall was little all he ever dreamed about was High school and how that in his first year he would be nothing but himself, he would NEVER fit in with the wrong crowed. Johnnie Guilbert has just moved from California to Ohio for his moms new job, in his old school he came out as gay, but johnnie knows not to make the same mistake twice. When Kyle meets Johnnie, a boy one year older than him (Johnnie's 16) will he have to break the promise he made as a little kid and hide his deepest secret or will he come out and tell everyone, and how will johnnie feel towards the boy. And will Kyle become so attached to the boy he tells him everything that's going on at home or will his problems be to much and Kyle ends his own life. Bryan knew Kyle was into Johnnie from the very beginning. He used that knowledge to manipulate the tall blonde teen into doing what Bryan wanted all the time. Kyle had no choice. He wasn't ready to come out and he didn't want Johnnie to stop hanging out with him because of a crush. Meanwhile, Johnnie and Alex were pressured into their relationship, and they're starting to realize that maybe they are just going through the motions, doing what feels normal because they did so for so long that its just instinct now. Now that they've all escaped Bryan, things could easily change, and they just might.
