Nagito's been alone since he was a kid, and lives in a constant state of self-loathing. He needs help, he knows he does, but he hasn't done anything about his constantly worsening mental state. Then he meets a normal reserve course student, Hajime Hinata. Despite him being talentless, Nagito falls for Hajime pretty quickly. And he seems to like him too. Hajime actually cares about Nagito, despite seeming annoyed with him essentially constantly. Maybe, with somebody who cares, it'll be okay.
