When Konata Izumi is walking home with her friends to a slumber party, Konata is struck by lightning. Unable to get 911, Konata survives by the aid of her friends throughout the night. But, she wakes up a boy. After renaming herself Konato, she attends school as a boy. But as her friends help her get used to being a boy, will she begin to have feelings for a Hiigari Kagami?

Kagami leaves town for college and finds herself lonely. She struggles to make friends and misses her highschool life. Meanwhile, Konata is also lonely so she decides to pay a visit to her college friend, only to find she's been wooed by her professor.
