Because from my Mother's perspective that's exactly how it happened. The reality is that there were many secrets that I kept from my mother. Meeting my Husband wasn't a coincidence, I wasn't forced. I made a choice and those choices have made me very happy. I tried to be her perfect daughter, but I guess its time she learns the WHOLE truth.

We've all heard the story of Hades and Persephone. But what if we heard wrong? How will Persephone escape her mother and reunite with her true love? Read to find out! Note: Because I know it's weird that they're technically related, I've decided that in this version the Gods aren't really related in the traditional sense. When you are born, you have completely unique DNA different from your parents because of the golden Ichor. They just refer to each other as brother/sister etc. to keep things less complicated. Also, Everyone stops aging at 20-25, so age isn't an important factor.

This was originally a school assignment where I had to use four poems as inspiration for a short story. The poems were Ode on Melancholy, In Praise of Creation, You Will Know When You Get There, and The Poplar Field. I took a few aspects, themes, and writing techniques from each of the poems and incorporated them into the short story. Ode on Melancholy had references to Greek mythology so I included some references as well. p.s. the title is just there cause I thought it was funny
