After the events in Kalos, Ash Ketchum returns to Pallet Town only to find out that there is a major tournament ongoing soon in Kanto! He later finds his friends, old and new, at the tournament. Will he win the tournament? Will Serena finally pluck up the courage to confess her love to Ash? And what will happen when an old enemy returns? He escapes with his Pokémon which remained loyal to him but in doing so, he loses one of them. Ash then returns to Cerise Lab and stays with Gou, Chloe and Professor Ceirse. A few months later, a tournament takes place. Ash competes in it to show to the traitors that he was not a weakling like they thought. Meanwhile, Chairman Rose is coming up with yet another plan to take over the world, but this time, he is working with Team Flare.
