In jail, Kurapika finds out his mother was an undocumented American spy and he gets deported back to the United States, where he then escapes from jail and must make a living in a foreign country with nothing but his street smarts and constant paranoia.

Y/n (they/them) and Kurapika meet at the hunter's exam, where they became friends, though there was some issues here and there, but it wasn't that much of a problem.
