Set after The Thousand-Year Blood War Arc and Yhwach's defeat, Akon, now the Lieutenant of Squad Twelve of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads has recently been reminiscing of his predecessor Nemu Kurotsuchi and their time together before her death. He figured it was a natural coping mechanism at first, but after noticing he still hasn't gotten over it ten years later, Akon begins to wonder when exactly did she become a keystone in his life.

Somehow, though, when it comes to Rock Lee, you always get more than you bargained for.

This was written for one of the prompts for Last Summer Conest Collab over on Wattpad. This is one of the stories I didn't finish by August 15th. This one is written for WattpadBroadway's prompt and needed to be 1.5-3k. I held off on this one because when I think theater I often think of Naruto and Ayatsuri Sakon, but when I tried finding a play which featured an Asian main character specifically I remembered that while I love Broadway productions Broadway doesn't have very many works which feature a minority main, particularly an Asian - so I rebelled and went with banraku which is a form of puppet theater from Japan. This is Yuri Saiki's heart, one she hides from view. A simple mistake starts this story. ***This happens in an alternate world, where most things still happen, with a few slight changes in the later arcs. 10 years before Ichigo's story.
