In the town of Farrain, Rowan is an orphan, a nobody, who earns her keep at the local tavern. She leads a quiet and plain existence, and she likes that just fine, until the entire land of Kyndale is overtaken by a feud between the new ruler and a rebel group. Standing up for what she believes to be right, Rowan plunges into a web of lies and deceit, only to find herself being used as a pawn in a political game of cat and mouse.
