It came as a surprise to everyone when Kimiko suddenly hugged Yuki and he didn't transform into his zodiac animal. Because of that Akito decided that she could still have her memories since having someone who wasn't affected by the curse would prove to be useful. Along the way though something that Akito wasn't able to realize was the blossoming romance between Yuki and Kimiko.
