One evening, Tohru, Kyo, and friends decide to visit a karaoke bar for a fun night out. As the night progresses, Tohru's friends beg her to get up on stage and sing a song. Initially reluctant and shy, Tohru is peer-pressured into agreeing. Kyo, becomes completely enthralled by Tohru's performance. Kyo doesn't talk about the things that haunt him. He hides them in silence, in distance, in the way he turns away before anyone can look too closely. Tohru doesn't push. She waits. This is a story about the things he doesn't say, the darkness he's afraid of becoming, and the girl who stays long enough to hear the truth - even when it hurts. Slow burn. Angst.

Tohru comes home feeling unwell, with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and headache. Despite Kyo's concern, she insists she's okay. As the night progresses, Kyo finds Tohru sleeping with a fever and realizes she needs medication. He goes out in the snow to get it, leaving a note in case she wakes up. When Tohru wakes up the next morning, she is haunted by a vivid dream where Kyo was gone.
