Before she can blink, Alex is sneaking onto a government plane with agents of a new caliber, and a warrior. That one choice tagled her up into something greater. Much, much greater. Astrid, daughter of Hades and Persephone. Goddess of truth, trust, and princess of the underworld; found by Heimdall on Asgard's shores as a baby. She is the best friend of the princes and lady Sif as well as the Warrior Three. Astrid knows the only purpose she serves; to be married to one of the princes as a form of peace between Asgard and Hades. It's never bothered her, until she reached her adult years. Especially once she begins to realize just what her true purpose is.

Loki is a fallen prince of Asgard. Jessica, formerly called Jalwa as an Asgardian, is a wandering spirit who left Asgard to make a life on earth, and an old friend of Loki. After Loki fails an invasion on Earth, he is taken back to Asgard to stand trial for his crimes. When Jessica impulsively decides to advocate for him at his trial, they are both in for a surprise when a jury is convinced to let Loki go free on one condition: Jessica must restore his good name. But will it be possible when neither one of them can trust the other?

Loki was burdened with a glorious purpose. He was alone and broken. He was always shadowed. But in the end he was the one who did the right thing and made the right choice.
