The year is 2018 and a genetically modified version of the rabies virus, code named Roanoke has been weaponized and is air-born. Every summer since Rubens' mother and his step father got married had been spent in a bunker in the Rockies, practicing survival skills for "doomsday". For the first time in his nineteen years, he feels lucky that his stepfather was nuts. Thanks to his parents' unique hobbies and questionable sanity he and his younger sister Ellie have had good luck up to this point, but winter is fast approaching and with it will come new friends and new foes.

Keyote is living in a isolated part of the Lakota Thornbrush Reservation with her Aunt Sophia. Key is allowed to wander the prairie that surrounds her Aunt's home. As Key is hunting on the plains she meets Paul. Together the young adults discover a forgotten conspiracy by the government to take the Reservation from the Lakota tribe. A conspiracy that surrounds a deeper, darker secret. Which a mad woman and the grandson of a spy would kill to keep secret. I'm not marking this story as 'mature', but there is some mature language and subjects which some people might find offensive. This story centers around Keyote who appears in my story 'Throwaway People'. You don't need to read the original story to enjoy this one, but I suggest it.

I combined all the Lakota Nation together in one story. Summary. The past is gone but not forgotten. A young boy named White Hawk has a rare gift. His parents do not have an answer to why he is going through this. He gets angry easily, he sees things that are not there, the elders believe it is a gift from the creator to talk to the ancestors that have passed on. Over the years White Hawk is getting worse, the older he gets the more he realizes that something is not right. Eventually, it will destroy his family and friends until he gets the proper help he needs.
