We have read The Ramayana as kids and always knew it to be the story of Rama and his consort Sita. Every character has an important role to play. But not all of them have found much importance is any of the version. One such character is Urmila and her story with Lakshmana. All versions mention Urmila's sacrifice as "Unparalleled" but none depicted it. This story is an attempt to present the story of Ramayana from Urmila and Lakshmana's POV. Note : This story is fictional. The characters are the same. This story is an insight of The Ramayana through Lakshman and Urmila's eyes. There would be Nobody's POV also. The events are the same but the depiction is part of fiction. Parts of the story is loosely based/inspired from Sita's Sister but I have taken creative liberty to give my character more edge and depth.

What could have Urmila dreamt in her 14 year long sleep? Well this story is an imaginary one answering that very question. It tracks down urmila's happy childhood days with her sisters in Mithila, the days of her love life before marriage with prince Lakshman there and finally the little happy time she spent with her beloved in the palace of Ayodhya

Lakshman celebrated as the most ideal brother of Ramayana questions himself on whether he was a good husband. As trumpets are blown on his spectacular support as a brother the man locks himself in a room. Unable to meet his wife Urmila he battles his inner demons whether he has been able to deliver on the promises he has given to his wife in front of the sacred fire. She had waited for him 14 years. As each night passed she became happy on the fact that the time to see her husband was nearer. As Ram and Sita entered Ayodhya her eyes had only followed the man who came behind them. She had dressed herself as a bride to welcome him. But as days turned to weeks Urmila looked at the mirror shattered. Her husband was refusing to meet her. He had locked himself in the other side of the palace and she was not allowed to approach him. She could understand his duty of 14 years. But she couldnt understand what stopped him now. She began to fear whether their marriage will be like a line that is drawn in water. But destiny had other plans. Lakshman is forced to meet Urmila under most unexpected circumstances. What will this meeting lead to. Will Urmila understand her husband's dilemma's. Will Lakshman be able to leave his past and move on with his wife. She is the one who can be present in 100 places at once, she who is the most pampered daughter of Shatrughan but a long buried secret for 6 years, that she is the blue skinned girl with a golden crown adorned witb peacock feathers, she is the one who entertains the eartlings with her melodious flute, is revealed to her when she was just 17! Little girl, big responsibilities Huh! But she needs to go through all this because she needs go experience the hard reality of this world to become the saviour.
