Have you ever heard of Lamarck's hypothesis of acquired traits? Trust me, it's nerdy but really cool-even if it is incorrect. The theory is pretty simple: through the use or disuse of organs, an organism acquires or loses certain traits during its lifetime. Don't understand? Here's a couple of examples.
