The Voltron team decided to get a little creative with another training session. The twist: one-on-one with drones of their "worst enemy". Lance doesn't think anything of it until he steps up to battle, the last in the queue. The team starts to worry that the drone might be broken as Lance stares into his own icy blue eyes. He's home, had been for a few months. On the morning of his birthday, Lance couldn't bring himself to be anything more than quiet and disturbed. He was so tired in the moment. And it's raining, too. What if Lance was not only a paladin of voltron, but a paladin of the Howlers. What if his past with the Howlers gets involved in his life again. What will happen to our Loverboy Lance?

Lance has multiple secrets. But there is one that he could never share with the people around him: He isn't like you. He's an alien. An Abeari to be exact. The Abeari are a race of nocturnal humanoids. They share the same looks as humans, but there are still differences. As long as you look close enough. The Abeari don't need to blink for extended amounts of time and can go an unnatural amount of time without breathing. Their blood is a different color than humans; Instead of red, its a bluish hue. There are more differences, but none that are seen as too alien. Lance has his secret under control, only his adoptive family knows the truth. But when he's suddenly shot into space with aliens and humans, should he let his secret out?

Lance finally had his life together. He was no longer struggling with suicidal thoughts. He no longer wanted to die. He wasn't depressed. He was happy. Keith was a loving, supportive boyfriend. His team cared about him and helped him through any and all rough patches he goes through. He had a support system now. Haggard tore that all apart when she turned him invisible. Now everyone thinks he's dead. Now Lance had to watch everyone fall apart and bring themselves back together again without him. There's nothing he can do to stop it. Lance knows this is worse than death. (This contains self harm, scars, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and depression.) Cover is not mine.

TW: this is a terribly written fanfic. I made it in middle school. It clearly romanticizes self harm, suicide, and so many different problems. So I genuinely want you to know going in that this is bad. The characters are written very out of character and the plots are all terrible. Not to mention all the times terrible things are romanticized. I used writing to cope as a kid going through shitty things so really this entire one shot book is a middle schooler's vent writing. I thought I would put this out here for all new middle schoolers or young people comin in. I dont want you to end up thinking that these thoughts were okay like I did. Suicide is not something to be taken lightly, and while it happens in real life, I did not portray that healthily at all. I promise everyone loves you and it will all be okay in the end. I dont want to leave a bad impression on people like some authors here left on me due to all of the langst fics I read. So like I said, take that all into account before going into this. I am not taking it down due to the memory of it and for people to be able to see this description. What is here is not okay and if you are coming back to this fic, I am so genuinely sorry.

Lance snapped awake at the sound of shoes slowly hitting the pavement.
