Lance McClain is brought into the world of vampyres one day, not by his free will. He meets the fledglings Hunk, Pidge, and Keith, and quickly befriends... most of them, while he learns about his new fledgling biology and about affinities under his mentor, High Priestess Allura. But the vampyre goddess Nyx puts Lance to the task of something he never thought was possible, and can this water affiliated fledgling fulfill the goddesses wishes?

Lance eats a fruit that was deemed safe for human consumption, and though the fruit doesn't kill him, it definitely does /something/, Now the rest of the team has to scramble around and figure out exactly what happened, and have to deal with the consequences of what has happened. Lance had stopped viewing himself very highly a long while ago, one too many signs pointed to the fact that he wasn't good enough for the team. This was until he was separated from the team and had to better himself in order to survive. (Basically Lance finds himself injured on a foreign planet and has to recover from his injuries while learning their culture)
