What do you think when you hear the word "fairies"? Winged People riding unicorns? People that solve all their problems with 'bibbidi bobbidi boo?' Wand waving maniacs? Well, the fairies in this book are different. Given the choice, some of them would rather live a human life. Some would stay the way they are. But they all have one thing in common; a purpose. Except for one. Emmie is a fairy whom others consider as a curse. She never had a purpose, and (according to the fairies) she never will. But when darkness invades their world, Emmie discovers that she has a strange ability ; she's not affected by the dark. Though convinced that there is some kind of mistake, Emmie embarks on a dangerous journey where the stakes have never been higher, in hopes that maybe...just maybe...she'll be useful after all.
