Peridot and Lapis have been best friends since middle school. Day by day, their connection only getting stronger. They were inseparable. They are now in their Sophomore year of highschool and both are as close as two friends could ever be. But by now Peridot has had a growing crush towards the beautiful bluenette she knows so much about. And she longs for her best friend to feel the same, but has always been really secretive of the subject, never to bring up her true feelings. But what Peridot doesn't know is that Lapis might be hiding the true feelings she has for the nerd she has grown so very close to over the years, too. This is an AU where Peridot did not escape in the escape pod and was also in the ship crash and saw Lapis when she tried to protect the others and dove in to keep her from putting herself through that. They ended up fusing but that also means they're now refugees in hiding. This au was originally made in my oneshots book but thought the stories were too good to just stand alone so I'm dedicating a whole book to them. Enjoy!

Peridot should have fled with Lapis the moment they had learned about Steven's encounter with the Diamonds. If she had went along with Lapis' concerns then none of this would have happened...at least that's what Lapis told herself to make her feel better.
