Peridot could not be more nervous when she went off to college to study robotics, chemistry, biology... "that smart stuff", as her friend Jasper calls it. She's pretty tiny and a clean freak, and she didn't want a roommate, but here she was. Lapis, on the other hand, figures she can just blow through college and pursue the arts. Music, painting... heck, maybe even being a swim coach would work out for her. As she begins to walk up the stairs to her dorm building, she wonders what her roommate would be like. Hopefully not OCD like Pearl, her sister. That was a nightmare.

Peridot is the daughter of a rich CEO, never getting to have the right of being herself. Lapis is a poor college student with nothing but a dream of being a rockstar in the big city. When fate brings the two together at a dinner party, their futures unknowingly intertwine.
