America is just as messy, but being an outcast isn't all too bad with Lizzy Grant. Set in 2000, sixteen-year-old Marina Diamandis moves to New York with her mother and nineteen-year-old sister once her parents split up. But being from Wales isn't exactly cool, except to Lizzy Grant, a really cool and, at the same time, mysteriously fascinating girl in her English class. Both being outcasts, and aspiring musicians, they get along splendidly...very splendidly. Lizzy is the only person Marina can truly confide in.
