Evan Hansen is one month into recovery after surviving a near-fatal suicide attempt. With the help of his friends and his mother, he is healing. He is learning, however, that healing is not linear. There are high points and low points, and nothing about it is easy. This sequel to "Another World" focuses primarily on Evan's recovery, and the lasting depression and regret that comes after an attempted suicide. Many points that are made will be connected to the first book, and I suggest that you read it first! It is also recommended that you have read, watched, or listened to "Dear Evan Hansen."

Evan Hansen had been getting letters once (sometimes twice) a year from his father. They were always birthday cards and never on his birthday. It isn't like Evan expect his father to remember his birthday, he just sort of hoped one day he would. He may have hated getting the letters he couldn't throw them away no matter how many times he tries. This year, he get's a letter that isn't a birthday card and the next day he learns his father has moved back into state closer then he would like.

Dear Evan Hansen, I thought today was going to be a normal day. I was going to go out on the oceanographer boat, jump into a divers suit and a heavy metal cage to see the humongous predators that we call great white sharks. A perfectly normal day. But then, it just happened. I couldn't even process what was happening but I knew I was going to die. I knew heard the smash and the crack. I don't even know why or how I'm alive.
