Larry Needlemeyer works at majority of the jobs in Elmore. His payment is very minimal and he barely gets any breaks or tips. Due to his low payment, he has to live with his decently paid girlfriend, Karen, whom he's questioning his relationship with. When Steve Small comes along Larry finally feels complete and as if he's actually... happy? He thinks of Steve as the best friend he never had as a child, maybe even more than friends...

Larry's a bit tired, what with all his jobs and such. Steve comes by and comes up with a solution to help him.

After Larry loses every job but one, and the Wattersons scare off Karen for the last time, Larry is left sobbing on the counter of a closed pizza place. Then, man he's met before walks through.
