"Survival of the fittest", almost everyone knows that quote. Humans, once the apex species of Earth, was capable of wiping out any animal they found fit. Until one day, an unknown virus named "G6-72" spread throughout the animal kingdom, rapidly mutating any animal into a bipedal-like human with special traits unique to their animal counterparts. The "beasts" quickly adapted, picking up the English language and forming civilized societies for themselves. Although, after around a hundred years of peace, for it is not known the exact reason, humans and beasts declared war, beginning the era known as "The Great War". Humans were far more technologically advanced, but the advantageous traits of the beasts helped us win the war, then forcing humans into the 'Giango Mountains', a secluded place full of mystery and death and were thought to have gone extinct years later. Foretold to be intelligent and hideous creatures born from destruction and greed, the beasts naturally learned to fear them. When Elaira stumbled upon an ancient cave deep in the woods two centuries later, the whole world's biggest fear is found to have dwindled down to the last human, a young boy. Todd wakes up thinking he is the last man alive. And with the dead running around, he doesn't exactly have time to find out if its true or not. But what happens when he runs into the badass zombie killer Beth? Will he get her to open up about her tragic past and become her friend or will he end up ruining his only chance for survival? "Don't turn around and give me what's ever in that bag," She sounded like she wasn't kidding around. Damn, I hope she's not hot. I slowly straightened and turned to face her. Damn, she's super hot. The gun in her hand was aimed right in my face. "Listen, I don't know how many people are left, so please, let's not do this. I am not the enemy, the dead are," I tried to reason with her. She narrowed her eyes at me. She huffed out a sigh before lowering her gun. "Fine, but only because you're the first person I have run into since my last group got ambushed," she said.

Perhaps I'll come up with a better name than that later. Anyhow, welcome to my first story published on Wattpad, (or anywhere, for that matter) concerning the last remnant of humanity - Jacob, a cryogenically frozen 14 year old who is bought into inkling society at the worst possible time. The great zapfish has disappeared (AGAIN) and it's up to the new squidbeak splatoon to find it! I'm going to draw a decent cover for this soon, but for now I'm afraid you'll have to put up with having no cover at all for a little while.

[Inspired by SupernovaDax's upcoming web comic, Frozen Stardust] In the 33rd century, Earth has been forgotten as the discovery of cryonite, a crystal that forms on celestial bodies orbiting pulsar stars, made faster than light (FTL) travel possible and the colonization of numerous planets began. While the Earth thrived without human intervention, it wasn't completely void of it. Dr. Zoe Mulligan, a young cosmologist, has been documenting her findings as she journeys across the abandoned planet through a series of audio logs. While Freya Roscoe, an engineer and survival enthusiast, has been journaling her adventures as she scavenges through empty streets and buildings as she builds contraptions that assist in her travels. While polar opposites, they both shared a singular belief...that they were the last human on Earth. That was...until August 5th, 3237. The following is a compilation of audio logs and journal entries that lead up to their unexpected meeting. Note: The cover art, characters, cryonite and other references to Frozen Stardust belong to @SupernovaDax on Twitter. Please do support her work.

Sometimes I wonder what it would feel like... to touch sunlight. I am twenty one today. And I have never seen the world. But something in me is stirring. Not fear. Not longing. A pull. A promise. A question: what if there's still something left for us up there? And I think... I might be the one to find out. Elira has never seen the sky. Born into the rusted womb of Bunker 12-one of the last underground shelters after Earth was overtaken by the Vorr, terrifying surface-dwellers who ended the age of humanity-Elira's entire life has been confined to steel corridors, recycled oxygen, and silence. At twenty-one, she knows her place: work hard, obey the Elders, and never ask what's above. But questions have a way of clawing their way to the surface. When a maintenance error leads her to a hidden passage and a map of the surface long thought destroyed, Elira finds herself face to face with the possibility that the world outside isn't as dead as she was taught. Whispers of forbidden zones, long-abandoned secrets, and unexplained disappearances push her deeper into the lies that hold their fragile underground society together. As the bunker edges toward collapse politically, structurally, and morally Elira must choose: cling to the safety of the cage she was born into, or risk everything to break through it. Hope didn't die with the surface. It was buried. And Elira is ready to dig. A slow-burn dystopian mystery about power, survival, and the quiet rebellion of a girl who refuses to live without knowing the truth.
