You dream of becoming an astronaut, a famous musician, a movie star, and for rare cases like mine, a wife. You build your whole life around that dream. Most people grow up and simply change their minds. The determined ones go out and get it. For me, it was different. I was diagnosed with a rare condition at nineteen - one with no cure. So it's fair to say my dreams of a pink wedding may never come true. Not in this lifetime, anyway. Over time, I've made peace with that. Because it was never really about the things you do in a lifetime - it's about the people you impact along the way. A lesson I learned from my very first doctor. She was five years old.
