When you're a kid, you kind of assume adults know what they're doing. That if something's missing, there's probably a good reason. Spider grows up without parents, and he tells himself that's just how his life is. But when he's sixteen and finally sees his birth certificate, sees that there's no birthplace listed, something shifts. It's not a mistake. And suddenly, a lot of things start to make sense in a really bad way. OR Spider finds out he was smuggled as a baby, and suddenly authorities are talking about sending him "back" to a country he barely speaks the language of.

Becky is dead. Hunter's life has been shattered, and as his waking hours shorten, he must fight for his life. After Taylor gets a note from the hooded creature, who's name has been revealed, Hunter is forced to flee his home. Andy, at a push, is forced to teach Hunter how to will a spell out of him, but his skill with magic is not enough. He is forced to try in battle and I'll leave the rest for you to find.

I came to bail my dear best friend out of jail, not watch him do parkour in a holding cell, hallucinate Jesus or casually confess in my car like it's no big deal.
