"'What even are you guys!' Laurel asked, swinging the bat at them once more, but this time, her movements were slower. The closest and largest of the hounds leapt forward, biting into the metal of the bat. The large hounds teeth sunk into the bat, piercing it and suddenly, it snapped.
Laurel blinked and gaped at the baseball bat, broken in half now. 'No way' She said and backed up, farther into the alley, against a rough brick wall. Her bat dropped from her hands and she watched the largest hound tackle the bat and shred it. How could a dog shred metal?
'Go away!' She shouted once more, and instinctively extended her hand, the dogs getting close. With her hands in front of her, she shut her eyes tight, waiting to be bit. When she opened her eyes, all that stood before her was a golden grizzly bear and no dogs."
