The book follows the movies original story with the addition of- Y/n. The story plays out differently with the addition to the group, the ending possibly being along the same tracks. Though the book numbs out the more kid movie jokes, it still remains a group of 13 year olds trying to save the world. 13 is a rough age and maybe finding some wildcard of a boy makes it a bit easier. Or harder.

Planet Drool start to die and The Darkness continues to grow. Sharkboy, Lavagirl, and Wolfia travel to earth and bring Max,a young dreamer, back to Planet Drool in hope of him being able to save the planet and Max's Dreams.
