Akira Kurusu, leader of the Phantom Thieves of Heart and current Wildcard, won a rigged game against the God of Control, Yaldabaoth. But at what cost? His bonds/loved ones purged from history and his own life. However all is not lost as he is given another choice by Philemon, Igor's master and the one who gifts the power of the Wildcard. Akira could either accept his death and go to the afterlife, or travel to another timeline in order to aid two wildcards in their journey to stop the fall.
