Feeling desperate, she asks for help from Will's archenemy, Warren Peace, to make him jealous; thus beginning the boyfriend contract. Warren agrees only if Layla promises to help him out at the Paper Lantern restaurant, and she's not allowed to be intimate with him if Will is not nearby.
