This will probably be more Damian-centric, because I'm trying to branch out and that just feels right, but I'll never actually know until I write it :3 Have fun. *** *** *** The Waynes picked up strays. That was a fact, a well-known fact. Damian had always thought he'd be the one picking up, though. Eventually, at least. He already picked up animals, true strays, not like the human strays his siblings joked about. He'd never expected to be picked up by a stray, though. Damian Wayne and Nico di Angelo had a bit too much in common. Cold fathers. Growing up alone. Finding it hard to truly connect, to truly be what others wanted them to be. There was one difference, though. Damian had a family. Yes, they were not great. Yes, they made him feel like an outsider in all but the best of times. But he had a family. Surely, they would miss him should he leave. Nico didn't have that anymore. He'd lost it. All of it. In what seemed like an instant. And the most difficult thing of all is trying to work through that, and possibly build up from the Hell he'd found himself in, again. Maybe they could do that together.

The Second Giant War was gruesome. With only 3 of the 7 left alive, they demigods of prophecy left the camps. They were unable, or maybe just unwilling, to be in the places where their friends once walked. They chose to escape the world of demigods while they still could. They wanted to try for normal so that maybe, one day, they could forget any of it ever happened. They wanted peace and safety. Nico... well, Nico had other ways of coping. ------------- Nico had had a long life. 16 years old, plus however many had passed in that cured casino had left little joy in his life. He had lost his grandparents, his mother, Bianca, his friends, and then Hazel... he missed her more than he could bare. He only knew his sister for around a year before he had lost her, and not a single day had passed in the last two years that he hadn't thought of her. He couldn't go to either camp or the underworld without feeling like his chest would explode from the pain. He knew she was in a better place. Her and Frank were in Elysium with Jason, Piper, and the rest of the heroes that died in the wars. She was at peace. Maybe she had even managed meet his mother and they were watching him now... though he honestly hoped they weren't. They would be disgusted by what he had become. --------- Nico x Batfam (unrelated to my Demigods in Gotham series)
