meeeeeeefff
I began writing this book for myself. As someone learning Korean, I realized early on that language learning becomes so much easier and more meaningful when you are learning through something you truly care about.
For me, that was Seventeen. I wanted to understand their lyrics. I wanted to sing along with them and actually know what I was saying. So I made a choice. I would learn Korean one song at a time. I would not move on to the next until I fully understood the lyrics. Every word, every expression, every feeling.
It was not easy. Himdeuro yeorubeun. But I found that learning vocabulary through K-pop lyrics made everything make more sense. It helped me in ways traditional study never did. This book is the result of that journey.
I decided to publish it on Wattpad because I believe others might benefit from this, too. If you are a fan, a learner, or someone who is both, I hope this book can be a helpful and encouraging resource.
Learning a language is difficult. But loving what you are learning it for makes all the difference.
I decided to kick things off with Seventeen's Vocal Unit because let's be real, their songs are way easier to catch than the rap line's verbal gymnastics. Like I'm not tryna fight for my life trying to understand thirteen syllables in one second. The Vocal Unit? They slow it down, make it soft, emotional, and actually singable. Perfect for us struggling language learners who still want to vibe and pretend we're in a K-drama scene. So yeah, we're starting with the easy wins. No shame.
